The Big Ploen Lake with its 30 hectares is the biggest lake in the region, but surely not the only one. More than 200 lakes can be found in the “Holsteiner Schweiz”.

Joined by the river Schwentine, which flows from Bungsberg to our regional capitol Kiel, all these lakes form a wonderful water paradise, where you will find ideal conditions for canoeing, sailing and surfing.

People who like it more relaxed can book a cruise across the lakes on one of the tourist boats. Fishermen can find a number of lakes open for fishing. In whatever way you spend your time with us, you are sure to become a “Lake maniac”.
